Besenzoni set for 2021 METS in Amsterdam

by Besenzoni 6 Nov 2021 02:52 AEDT 16-18 November 2021

At the 2021 METS - being held in Amsterdam from 16 to 18 November - Besenzoni will be showcasing its products, from the PI 461 gangway with a new eco-friendly walkway - and above all with two nominations: for the DAME Design Award with LaPasserella (The Gangway) in the "Deck equipment, sails and rigging" category, and for the Boat Builder Award, along with Blu Emme Yachts, with the EVO V8, in the "Superyacht Builder and its Supply Chain Partner" category.

Besenzoni confirms that it will take part in the METS, which after a year when it couldn't be held is opening its doors again at the Amsterdam exhibition centre from 16 to 18 November.

The Sarnico-based company, in particular, will be taking part with two important nominations for two prestigious awards which have always been a feature of what is considered the most important international trade fair for nautical and boating accessories.

LaPasserella has been nominated among the finalists at the DAME in the "Deck equipment, sails and rigging" category, and Besenzoni's collaboration with the Blu Emme Yachts boatyard has led to the EVO V8 being selected among the finalists for the Superyacht Builder Award in the Superyacht Builder and its Supply Chain partner category.

Of course a large number of the company's many products intended for all kinds of craft will be on display, from helm seats to cranes, to side doors and patio doors, to bathing ladders, hard tops, canopies and gangways. Of the above the renowned PI 461 will be on display at our stand, but with a new walkway made from eco-teck, which is completely eco-friendly and easy to maintain.

Here are the details:

LaPasserella

The first product in the new BeElectric series, LaPasserella, launched at the end of last year, is a revolutionary product as far as onboard accessories are concerned and has been nominated among the finalists for the Dame Design Award, which the company previously won in 2002 with the super compact Magic mini-crane as well as in 2017 with the Matrix helm seat. In the case of LaPasserella, although aesthetically its appearance hasn't changed it's different inside: now that this Besenzoni product is powered completely by electricity there are several advantages.

LaPasserella, does not require a hydraulic power pack, making the system silent and the boat lighter. This brings with it a distinct advantage: it has a lower environmental impact on marine life, due to the automatic fuel reduction and the lower consumption of energy on board in addition to the complete elimination of hydraulic oil in the device and in the engine room, thereby ensuring that no oil is released into the sea. Furthermore, it can be coated in synthetic 100% eco-friendly stabilized UV-resistant PVC material.

PI 461 Miss - new look

Talking of eco-friendly products, the renowned PI 461 Miss telescopic gangway will also be on display at the Mets for the first time. It has always been appreciated because it is lightweight and performs well with its new walkway made from the innovative top-quality 100% "Green Ecological" high-performing virgin PVC synthetic material which obviates the need to use wood. This requires zero maintenance as the standard wood polishing or oiling isn't necessary - simply brush down with soapy water. It is also stain-resistant, hard-wearing and impervious to the effects of UV rays or sea water, as well as having an excellent non-slip surface, in both wet and dry conditions.

Boat Builder Awards: among the finalists along with Blu Emme Yachts with the EVO V8

Blu Emme Yachts with the EVO V8 Yacht and Besenzoni are among the finalists at the Boat Builder Awards, in the "Collaborative Solutions between Boat or Superyacht Builder and its Supply Chain Partner" category. The jury was convinced by our excellent collaboration on the new Evo V8 which led us to develop customised solutions which are both aesthetically pleasing and extremely effective. One of these is the beach area: an area of the boat intended solely for guests to enjoy themselves and relax, where a meticulous planning process made it possible to conceal all the technical equipment, including the tender and its recovery winch, a Besenzoni G444 hydraulic crane, freeing up every centimetre of space on the bridge.

A perfect avant-garde design example is the retractable hydraulic ladder that leads to the Roof Top. In order to give the yacht a flat profile, the designer wanted this area to be almost invisible at first; the whole Roof Top has been designed to create a surprise effect and can only be reached by means of a retractable hydraulic ladder custom made by Besenzoni.

Another feature produced by the Sarnico-based company are the wide windows of the panoramic lounge on the Main Deck that open partially, highlighting the contact with the outside world and the V8's open-concept layout. Moving on to the bow area on the Main Deck, the canopy roof from Besenzoni's BestShade division quickly provides shade on a hot day.

Finally, the multifunctional retractable SP 602 ladder/gangway makes it easy to get into the water or onto the quayside.

Besenzoni will be at the Italian Pavilion 01.563 - Unica Superyacht Pavilion 07.349
