Mersea Week 2021 set for Sunday 8th August through to Friday 13th August

by Chrissie Westgate 25 Feb 2021 14:09 UTC 8-13 August 2020
Cruiser Start at Mersea Week © Mersea Week

Mersea Week is a sailing regatta organised jointly by West Mersea Yacht Club and Dabchicks Sailing Club on Mersea Island in Essex.

Those of you who have sailed with us before will know that the secluded waters around Mersea Island provide near perfect conditions for our expert race team to run this exciting and very popular event. Those yet to join us, check out our website, merseaweek.org

There will be daily starts for three PY dinghy classes, IRC sportsboats, IRC cruisers, Sonata One designs, locally handicapped and white sail cruisers, classic historic sailing craft and yachts including smacks and fisherman's open boats.

Once back on dry land, you can relax on the Yacht Club lawn with your favourite tipple. Whilst enjoying the stunning views, you will then be entertained by our local musicians with a sea shanty or two. Prizes will be presented daily and overall.

We welcome visiting yachts, yachtsmen and women, dinghies and crew and will provide yachts with a free mooring for the week.

To find out more or make contact please visit our website, merseaweek.org

PLEASE NOTE: This is a change from our first announcement of dates made many months ago.

The Mersea Week committee welcomes the return to sailing. Nevertheless, in the days and weeks leading to this event, we will be continually reviewing government regulations and follow the Royal Yachting Association recommendations at all times.

Thank you for your understanding.
