Colin Pelton from Salisbury and Dan Booth from West Kirby, are the next two winners to be revealed in the 2020 ilovesailing calendar competition.

Chosen from amongst 26 fantastic photos submitted throughout May, Colin and Dan have now secured their place on the 2021 calendar, along with a host of other great prizes including:

  • Two tickets to the Southampton International Boat Show for the official prize-giving
  • Afternoon tea at the Holiday Inn for them and three guests following the prize-giving
  • Canvas print of their winning entry
  • A copy of the final printed calendar
  • A selection of RYA goodies
  • And this years 'gold' ilovesailing rubber duck

Speaking of his winning shot entitled 'Ionian Blue', Colin said: "I am delighted that one of my photos has been chosen for the 2021 ilovesailing calendar. I've supported the RYA and this competition for many years as it always produces spectacular results. I look forward to attending another successful Southampton Boat Show in September and meeting fellow competition winners.

"The photograph was taken motor sailing out of Vassiliki during a late October heatwave in the Ionian. I came across the image during a Covid lockdown trawl through all my sailing photos. I remember the quality of light was extraordinary so I tried to capture the tones of the sea and sky against the mirage-like backdrop of the islands."

While Dan, whose winning shot 'Lasers on the lake', commented: "I'm delighted to have my picture selected for the calendar, I take photos while walking around the marine lake at West Kirby, this one was taken on a warm Tuesday evening in May last year during a laser Fleet race.

"I enjoy taking sunset photos and this one lined up quite nicely so I took a few on the way past. Luckily it turned out very well!"

The ilovesailing calendar competition, now in its 8th year, gives amateur and professional photographers the perfect place showcase their favourite sailing photos. From dinghy cruising to yacht racing, family days out to regattas, sunsets to sunrises, whatever kind of sailing you love or wherever you love to do it, capture the moment on camera and you could win a spot on the 2021 calendar.

"It's always exciting when we reach the mid-point in the competition and you can begin to see exactly how
