by Lisa Harrison 21 Feb 2020 04:04 NZDT

The Marine Marketers of America (MMA) recognized MarineMax for outstanding marketing communications efforts in the marine industry at the 2019 Neptune Awards ceremony. The event took place during the Miami International Boat Show in early February, awarding MarineMax Best Sales Promotion for their "Online Yacht Expo."

"It is a great honor to receive the 2019 Neptune Award for Best Sales Promotion for our Online Yacht Expo," states Abbey Heimensen, MarineMax Director of Marketing. "The project was a companywide effort to innovate the online shopping experience. Every facet of the organization, from Sales to Accounts Payable, was involved with the process of bringing the Online Yacht Expo to fruition. Thank you to our peers who voted for MarineMax, and to the MMA for continuing to push marine marketing initiatives forward. It truly is an honor to stand alongside fellow recipients in accepting a Neptune Award."

MarineMax won the category for Best Sales Promotion for the, "Online Yacht Expo," conceived, created, and implemented by MarineMax. The "Online Yacht Expo" delivers the boat show experience to the consumer in the comfort of their living room. Attendees can explore and take tours from wherever they are using a computer, mobile phone, or tablet. They were able to take advantage of perks one would normally find at an in-person boat show. Features included exclusive pricing and incentives, bonus gift bags, travel credits, yacht management options, the ability to chat live with industry experts, and even reserving a yacht by placing a deposit online.

MMA President Wanda Kenton Smith said in a statement, "Winning a Neptune Award communicates the highest level of marketing achievement in the boating industry. This year's field of entries represents a stellar mix of outstanding marketing initiatives launched and executed by companies large and small."

The MMA is an exclusive association for marketers employed in the marine industry. Membership is open to any person engaged in marketing activities on behalf of marine industry products, services, or causes. The MMA's Neptune Award celebrates companies for producing world-class marketing work in the marine space, voted on by their peers. This year's awards drew 150 entries in 20 categories, with more than 50 marketing professionals serving as judges. The rules are structured so that no one can judge in a category in which there would be a conflict of interest. All winning entries may be viewed at www.marinemarketersofamerica.org.
