The Sailors Ball will be this Saturday, April 27, 2019. Doors open at 9 pm and dancing continues until 1 am. Advanced tickets are $120 ($150 at the door) and available up until Thursday at sailorsball.com/tickets/.

The Sailors Ball is the biggest black tie sailing party of the year. Sailing enthusiasts from all over the tri-State area come together to celebrate the start of the new sailing season. Cast off your dull winter clothes, dress up in something sexy and come be part of this exciting spring ritual!

The Sailors Ball is famous for its sponsors and theme-room format. You will glide from room to room throughout the evening and experience different sights, sounds and atmospheres. Here are some of the rooms to expect this year:

The Mason & Sons Casino Room

Start your evening in 007-style at the Mason & Sons Casino Room. Mason & Sons is famous for menswear, tailoring and accessories for the modern gentleman. VDKA 6100 and Gorgi Gin Martinis will be served. The music will be "bondesque."

And while you are in the Mason & Sons Casino Room, try your luck at some Vegas style game tables, including blackjack, craps, and roulette. Guests may purchase chips inside the room and then if you are lucky, use your chips to try and win some prizes at the end of the evening. All of this is to help raise money for the Foundation, so play a lot, win some and lose some. Look good, feel good and do good.

The Mount Gay Rum Photo Booth Room

This is the sailors rum and one of the original sponsors of the Sailors Ball. The Mt Gay Rum Room will feature Mt Gay Rum & tonics, a fun photo booth, and Caribbean music. All sailors who have visited the Caribbean are invited to gather in this room at 10 pm to dance to some favorite songs from Caribbean Week regattas including "Shake Your Booty," WCK's "Rolling" & "What are you doing with your Life?"

The Mt Gay Rum Room will also feature the Sailors Ball Photo Booth. Get there early while there is still film in the camera. Record yourself and your friends and post live on your social media as it is happening.

Mala Vida Tequila Not-so-Silent Auction Room

The Mala Vida Not-So-Silent Auction Room is where you can bid on great items like a one-week vacation in Hilton Head, a party for you and 9 of your friends on Arabella, and an Amagansett Weekend getaway. This silent auction will go until midnight. Win something great for you or your date. All proceeds from the Silent Auction will benefit the 12 Meter Program.

Now the reason this is called the Not-so-Silent Auction" is that it is sponsored by Mala Vida Tequila!! The intense flavors, balanced aroma and medium body give Mala Vida Blanco the perfect balance for premium beverages. The celebrity DJ will be David KISS from the House of Yes. And to make the Sailors Ball even more exciting this year, stop by and try the luge! If you have to ask, Jim Hendrix would say you are not experienced enough. Welcome to the legendary Sailors Ball!

The Silent Disco Room - Look behind the velvet curtains. You'll hear no sound as you approach the entrance, just the jumping of feet, pumping of arms in the air, and a multitude of colors. When you walk into the darkness, you will be greeted with a headset. Select one of three channels of music. Know what your friends are dancing to by the color of their headset. Now you are launched into one of the coolest and intense experiences sweeping the party scene thanks to our friends at Sound Off Experience.

Lester Lanin Orchestra Room - This year will feature the return of the Lester Lanin Orchestra for all those people who like to swing and dance to a live big band. The Lester Lanin Orchestra will be playing in the Grand Ballroom with beautiful white columns.

The Heineken "Boom Boom" Room - This room may begin the evening as a quiet enclave where you can escape and relax, but be forewarned. At the stroke of midnight, this room transforms into a Full Moon Party. The lights go down, the amplifier goes up and the subwoofer begins to vibrate. No matter where you have been for the rest of the evening, at midnight, the hottest place to be is always the Heineken Boom Boom Room. There is a thumping beat, deep base and a playlist careening from disco to rock to current dance and EDM. It can get a bit crowded, with wall to wall people, dancing the final hour away. All sorts of things happen in the Boom Boom Room as the Sailors Ball draws to a close. Make magic. Have a little fun. Cut loose. Stay young forever. Did Rihanna sing, "We found love in the hottest place..."

So dust off your dancing shoes. Get ready for this great party which celebrates spring and the start of the new sailing season. Bring a date or some friends, or come by yourself and meet a date at the Ball. This is always the greatest event of the spring.

Tickets are now on sale at sailorsball.com/tickets

The Sailors Ball is the main annual fundraiser for the NY Harbor Sailing Foundation. The Foundation runs the largest junior sailing programs in the harbor as well as the Lady Liberty Regatta and the 12 Meter Program.
