Transliner Yachts are offering so much more than just transportation of your yacht to the idyllic cruising ground of Phuket. “We are pleased to announce additional bonuses to the Monsoon Route package,” says J J Lavigne, Transliner’s Head of Transportation. “Not only have we revised the pricing structure, but we have also negotiated some great extra benefits with marina partners, creating a fully comprehensive package to make cruising in the region a whole lot easier.”
Ship your yacht down to Phuket in October, and you can enjoy discounted rates at Phuket Yacht Haven and Royal Phuket Marina, and Phuket Boat Lagoon will be throwing a special ‘Arrival & Welcome Party’ for owners and their guests. “We believe that partnering with the principal Phuket marinas has all sorts of benefits for Monsoon Route customers,” says Lavigne. “It takes a whole swathe of organisation away from the prospective visitors, and it means that berthing costs are not only known in advance – but fixed. The rates offered are very preferential even though this is high season. The marinas are proposing a number of social activities and even offer ‘planned cruises’ to introduce newcomers to the delights of the Andaman Sea area.
There’s plenty of choice! A yacht based over the winter in Phuket has any number of cruising destinations to explore. Phang Nga Bay is a given, but the Similan Islands are just an overnight passage away (50nm), and the untouched Mergui Archipelago is scarcely 140nm up the coast. For the more adventurous, the fabulous Andaman Islands are just over the horizon - 400nm to be exact. Going south, and there’s a sprinkle of islands just waiting to be visited. Koh Muk, Koh Rok Nok, Koh Tatutao and the Butangs (100nm) and then Langkawi in Malaysia – the duty free island!
It’s just over 3hrs flying time from Hong Kong to Phuket direct, which means that berthing a yacht in Phuket (at partner preferential rates, of course) and visiting for a long weekend’s cruising is a very practical proposition. The Monsoon Route by Transliner opens up a whole new vista for Hong Kong yacht owners – cruising one of Asia’s premier nautical playgrounds without the hassle and stress of moving the boat more than 2,000nm ‘on her own bottom’ with all the wear and tear that entails, and at an exceptionally attractive price. You do the sums: LOA x Beam (in feet) x USD32, inclusive of insurance, cradle, loading, unloading. Everything. No hidden extra charges, but a good many ‘extra’ benefits!
