28 degrees and blue skies, the very last day of Australia´s harsh northern winter and the first day of spring.

The seventh annual SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week continues with more rave reviews. The latest being from CYCA Commodore Howard Piggott, who with three races to go its currently tied on points with Blackjack in the Queensland Season of Sailing Cup. Winds of 13-18´s expected on Townsville's Cleveland Bay today and we will be on the water again.

Objective Australian our Red Bull Youth America’s Cup team posted the second fastest time at the Speed Trials, ahead of the start of the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup, but their first two races were a disaster.

In the speed trials, each team had two runs down the course, with Objective Australian posting the time to beat in an early first run in near-perfect conditions. It appeared as if that time, 40.70 seconds, would stand. But the German All in Racing, in its second run, with two men ‘riding the bull’ in the back stern scoop to lift the bows out of the water, streaked across the finish line just .06 seconds ahead, to take the win in a photo finish.

But when it came to the real deal, a disaster for Objective Australian in the first two Red Bull races.

A genoa halyard issue in race one had them at the back of the fleet. Then in race two the halyard broke, down came their sail and they ran over it. All over Red Rover!!

Here is the points table. Read it and weep. More news soon.

America's Cup legal drama continues - a ruling is not expected until Monday or Tuesday (local time) in San Francisco from the International Jury into various claims of boat tampering and gross misconduct.

The five person Jury are believed to have concluded their two Hearings bought under Rule 69.1 of the America's Cup edition of the International Sailing Federation's Racing Rules, and Article 60 of the Protocol governing the 34th America's Cup.

That timing will leave Oracle Team USA with just three or four clear days before the start of the regatta on Saturday September 7.
