One week until the Gold Coast lights up with everything marine, starting with the Out of the Blue event at Marina Mirage, then the start of this year’s ASMEX conference dealing with the current issues and opportunities for exporters and the superyacht industry and attracting international delegates in strong numbers, and then Thursday 23 May, the gates open for the 25th anniversary edition of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
Now, I AM biased, living as I have done for the past decade on the GC, but many thousands will agree with me that SCIBS is certainly one of the most perfectly situated boat shows in the world.
This week, the 300+ exhibitors are starting their bump in and looking forward to an exceptional event, with an array of initiatives and activities in place to attract potential buyers from all over the region.
There will be more info later in the week on this premier event - standby.
The crew from Marinebusiness-World and Sail-World will be in our regular booth in the bright blue pavilion with our branding on it. We will also be jetting around capturing the stories and the personalities at the show, so if you have a special request, VIP or product on display, get in early and let us know. We would be thrilled to pop in and hear about it.
Next week is also the four-day celebration known as the Riviera Festival of Boating – when Riviera's Coomera complex welcomes thousands of its owners and extended family for a behind the scenes glimpse of production, hands-on workshops, training sessions and seminars for all members of the family.
It’s an exceptional program this year, with 76 educational and social activities for owners and aspiring powerboat owners, capped off by the gala dinner on the Saturday night, so if you are keen to find out more, check out www.rivieraaustralia.com
Now, for the pretty film from Tony Burke's office. If you haven't seen it, perhaps watch it first and make up your own mind about its veracity and the high end production values, particularly in light of today's budget announcements.
Plenty of other stuff to inspire and excite, so take your time and peruse at your leisure.
