What a week - so much news we're overflowing! There are several major stories set to break and a few features on the boil, so don't let today be the only day you look to MarineBusiness-World.com for your news and information.
First up, plenty of event news from far and wide: SCIBS, Marine13, ASMEX, Pittwater Sail Expo, Brisbane Tinnie & Tackle Show, Hillarys, Singapore Yacht Show, Rosehill Trailer Boat Show and all the happenings and impressions from the recent RYA Dinghy Show in chilly London.
We also cover exclusively news of the imminent decision on the application by GKI Resort (Tower Holdings) for $600m redevelopment plans on Great Keppel Island - an icon of Queensland tourism and a veritable boating paradise.
Once approved - according to Federal Tourism Minister, Martin Ferguson, as soon as two weeks from now - it would be the first new significant tourism infrastructure in Queensland for over 20 years.
Good news for the boating community - the marina and marine precinct is at the heart of the overhaul, including state-of-the-art facilities for an exciting array of businesses, boutiques, dining venues and marine services - all with sustainability at their core.
Now, for the real excitement: The 2013 America’s Cup will be the biggest marine media event in many years and we will have the most detailed coverage of the event of any marine media. Finally, Navico is justifiably proud of its operational performance results for the fourth quarter and the year ending December 31, 2012. Revenue was up in the fourth quarter by 27% compared to the same period in 2011. Overall, the revenues for the year were up 15% and global market share rose by around 4 percentage points - all in a flat market.
Enough from me, enjoy this week's diverse offerings and please, keep in touch with your own news and views - always welcome!
