SIN and FIN share top honours at 2010 Byte CII Worlds in Cannes

For the first time ever at Byte Worlds, the male and female fleets raced separately and two individual World Champions were crowned. Darren Choy of Singapore became the first athlete to win back-to-back Byte World Titles, winning the 2010 Male World Championships. Niki Blassar of Finland is the new 2010 Female World Champion.

The event was extremely well attended with 28 different countries competing to qualify for the 2010 World Youth Olympics in Singapore. Six male places and six female places were open for countries that had not yet qualified in their Continental Qualifier. These places were won as follows:


Male: Ukraine, Slovenia, Portugal, Turkey, France, Switzerland
Female: Denmark, Italy, Germany, Slovenia, Spain, Ukraine
