One of the icon's of TV sailing and sports news, Martin Tasker, is doing his bit for Movember. That's when all sorts of normal males take leave of their senses and sprout facial hair for charity.

Martin's making a clean start after the 34th's America's Cup and is shaving off his 'moustache' for a good cause. A substantial movement around the Auckland waterfront a reported to be happy to make a substantial donation for him to not grow it back again. He writes:

It's Movember and the time for change is now. As a part of Generation Mo, I've committed my face to the cause and will SHAVING OFF MY MOUSTACHE ON BREAKFAST TV TOMORROW. FRIDAY NOVEMBER 1 @ 08.40 HRS (http://tvnz.co.nz/breakfast-news ) to raise funds and awareness for men's health.

You may care to support me as I fight the good fight. You can donate to my moustache and maybe its regrowth by:

1. Donating online at: http://mobro.co/martintasker

2. Writing a cheque to 'Movember', referencing my registration ID: 6742585 and mailing it to:

Movember
PO Box 12 708

Your donation will support world class men's health programmes that combat prostate and testicular cancer and mental health challenges.

These programmes, directed by the Movember Foundation, are focused on:
- awareness and education
- staying mentally healthy
- living with and beyond cancer
- living with and beyond mental illness
- research

All working to achieve our vision of an everlasting impact on the face of men's health.

These funded programmes are spread across New Zealand, please visit the Funded Programmes page for all the hairy details: http://nz.movember.com/programs

Thanks in advance for supporting my Mo and helping to change the face of men's health.
