John Navas presents the first video of Oracle Team USA staging a match race on the America's Cup Course in San Francisco between their first AC72 Boat 1 and the more recently launched Boat 2.
For those familiar with John's previous videos, on the Challengers, the points to note are the first gybe after rounding the first reach mark, which sets the boat for the first downwind leg.
Then look for the gybes tacks and general crew manoeuvres and boat positioning. It is not possible to make comparison between speed and heading angle off this video between the Defender and Challengers. So that question remains largely unanswered.
