25th H&R Block’s Three Peaks Race - Coles Bay Wharf was a hive of activity this morning, Sunday 31st March.
With Peccadillo’s retirement yesterday, other Three Peaks front runners – Euphoria Furniture, Advant Edge and Cable Plus Tas - embraced the opportunity to test their strength on the second running leg in Freycinet National Park.
Blustery conditions overnight saw some teams shelter at Swansea, coming over to Coles Bay at first light.
Euphoria clocked a quick time on the run of 4 hours, 14 minutes and 20 seconds, followed by Advant Edge runners John Claridge and Robert Brumming with 5h26m00s and Cables Plus Tas – MS Tas with 6h56m00s.
Team Tilt was the last to drop off its runners around 8.40am and Coles Bay control centre is still waiting for them to finish.
It is expect that teams will dock at Hobart’s Constitution Dock tonight, with trackers showing Euphoria Furniture is two nautical miles south south-east of Tasman Island and Advant Edge two nautical miles north-east of Tasman Island.
For a team to break the Three Peaks race record, crews must complete all three sailing and running legs by 12.49am on April 1.
