'Whistler skippered by David Rees'
The H&R Block Three Peaks Race organisers have praised the camaraderie between teams after a sailor was reporter overboard this morning.
Whistler skipper David Rees ended up in choppy seas before being picked up by Robert Findlay-skippered vessel Whistler World.
Rees was returned to his crew in good spirits by a passing boat and is now warming up below deck.
Race director Raoul Stow thanked those involved for their fast actions and team Whistler for its calmness in rescuing Rees.
'Whistler skipper David Rees decided to inject some drama into the race this morning after his vessel ran aground,' Mr. Stow said.
'David was successfully retrieved by competing team Whistler World. He is cold but in good spirits.'
