Sail Port Stephens 2013, will be sailed from Monday 15th to Sunday 21st April 2013. Now the second largest regatta sailed in NSW. Location is important, Port Stephens is just 110 nautical miles from Sydney and 2.5 hours driving time, with Newcastle airport just 20 minutes from the Port Stephens holiday town of Nelson Bay. Regatta central is at d’Albora Marina, in downtown Nelson Bay, with ever growing elements of the fleet at the multiple award winning Soldiers Point and the Anchorage Resort marina further along the bay.

The Volvo Ocean Race hunt for Onboard Reporters for the upcoming edition in 2014-15 has been given a resounding response, with over 1,500 applications received by organisers in less than three months. The Volvo Ocean Race is seeking experienced multimedia storytellers with steady enough hands and nerves to supply video, audio, text and pictures from the oceans during the nine-month race around the world. According to the high profile and often controversial Australian photographer Nicole Scott, she is amongst those applicants. Scott established a FaceBook page promoting her application and within a very very short time received absolutely incredible support for her endeavours, with some 95% of her ´likes´coming from the Indian subcontinent.
