Kata Group Resorts Thailand, an operator of leading luxury beachside resorts in Thailand, hosted an elegant candle ceremony to honour His Majesty the King of Thailand’s 85th birthday. Hundreds of sailors from around the world joined VIPs and media to toast His Majesty by the traditional raising of glasses and three shouts of “Chai-Yo” at Phuket Orchid Resort & Spa, Karon Beach, Phuket. The event was followed by a prize-giving ceremony and post-race party for the 26th Phuket King's Cup Regatta.

Kata Group has continued its role as host sponsor of the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta for 15 consecutive years. The Group has over three decades of experience in offering high-quality, affordable resort destinations and in presenting the world-famous Thai holiday experience to a broad demographic of guests who love to travel to this beautiful part of Thailand. The Group currently owns and operates six resorts in Thailand: Kata Beach Resort & Spa, Phuket; Karon Beach Resort & Spa, Phuket; Phuket Orchid Resort & Spa, Phuket; Kandaburi Resort & Spa, Koh Samui; and two exclusive new resorts - Beyond Resort Khaolak, Phang Nga and Beyond Resort Krabi in Krabi.
