MRX Yachting and the Auckland Regatta Week Trust invite overseas Clubs, Classes or Crews to submit an 'Expression of Interest' in competing in the 2013 Farr MRX Pacific Keelboat Challenge.

Event Information

Following the enthusiasm generated from our 2012 regatta we will be back bigger and better in March, 2013!
The Farr MRX Pacific Keel Boat Challenge is an invitation fleet racing event for leading Yacht Clubs , Classes or Crews from around the world. Expressions of Interest have been received from the USA, Ireland, Japan, Hong Kong, Asia, Australia, the Pacific Islands and New Zealand.
The Regatta will be organized by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and Bucklands Beach Yacht Club as part of the Auckland Regatta.

Superb One Design Keel Boat Racing

“The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron is very pleased to host the 2013 Farr MRX Pacific Keel Boat Challenge”, Steve Burrett, Commodore - 2013 Pacific Keel Boat Challenge -  Tom Macky
The event will be sailed in 10 identical Farr 10.2 metre MRX Yachts each with 6 crew. There will be 1 practice day and 3 race days. Up to 13 windward leeward and harbour course races will be held on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour.

This strict one design racing provides the very best crew vs crew competition! The MRX Yachts are ready to sail and cannot be altered so all competing crews need to bring is their sailing gear!
This will be a great opportunity to enjoy great racing on the course and camaraderie ashore.

Honorary Membership of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron

As a special token of their welcome the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron will be offering competing crews honorary membership to the Club for the regatta.
