Superyacht information night a success

Australian Superyacht Crew held its inaugural 'Superyacht Information and Lifestyle Night' at Darling Harbour (Pontoon Bar) on Wednesday July 4. It was a big success with over 40 people attending to learn from Superyacht professionals all about opportunities to work in the international Superyacht industry. Guests enjoyed drinks and canapés whilst listening to a 20-minute fun and informative presentation given by Donna Morris, Australian Superyacht Crew’s Principal. Afterwards there was an interactive hour-long Q&A session with a panel of three Superyacht veterans: a Captain, Purser and Chief Stewardess. Guests who attended the evening were impressed to learn all about the industry that requires only a modest start-up outlay to get trained and certified to embark on the exciting next-phase of their careers. Kyle said 'I was so bored in my job, and needed a change. I really love the idea of meeting a whole new range of people whilst working all over the world, travelling in style! I’m signing up for the whole program: STCW95 Basic Safety Training, Steward and Deckhand training. That way I’ll be using all my skills and putting myself at an advantage on the job stakes'. Leah said 'I’ve been thinking about making this career change for a while and now I’m ready to take the plunge. I’m keen to put myself into a new challenge and open up my world. I’m excited because I love hospitality and can hardly wait to work at the elite level on Superyachts.' Donna Morris said 'Due to the success of that evening, the level of interest and the timing of the Sydney International Boat Show (Aug 2-6), we have decided to hold another Superyacht Information Night on Tuesday July 31 at Pontoon Bar, Darling Harbour. 'Attendees will have the opportunity to win a Lucky Door Prize; one of 20 Free Tickets to the Sydney International Boat Show,' she said. Australian Superyacht Crew is Australia’s leading Superyacht Crew Training and Recruitment Company with their offices head quartered at Sydney Superyacht Marina in Rozelle. Australian Superyacht Crew offers AMSA (Australian Maritime Safety Authority) Accredited STCW95 Basic Safety Training through its strategic partnership with TAFE NSW.
