The real winners of the 2012 Toronto Area Hospice Regatta are; Perram House, a residential hospice providing end-of-life care in Toronto and the sailors that get to compete in a 'first class' one design racing event. The regatta now in its fifth year has raised much awareness for the good work of Perram House and over $100,000 for its financial operations. The sailors will compete for trophies on June 15th & 16th .

Perram House provides patient centric care to individuals who have a limited life expectancy. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team of professionals all of whom specialize in palliative care. The program includes: nursing personal support, psychosocial and spiritual care placing residents in control of his or her life.

Frank McCrea, Board Chair of Perram House wishes all competitors of this year’s regatta every success with their racing efforts. Further he added 'The pleasure that flows from intense competition and the satisfaction in knowing that their participation is making a significant contribution to individuals in their time of greatest need.'
