Europa Warm-Up Race News Flash.
The technical team of Kito de Pavant contacted Race Direction for the Europa Warm-Up Race at 1256hrs (French time, UTC + 2hrs) to tell them that Groupe Bel has dismasted. The skipper, de Pavant is fine, is not injured and has not requested assistance.
The boat was sailing in 20-25kts of SW’ly wind and waves of 2.5m and is now heading for the port of Ponta Delgada on the island of Sao Miguel, about 50 miles from where the incident happened.
