Three differences of the Korea International Boat Show 2012
|
The Korea International Boat Show 2012, the nation’s largest water sports expo, will be held at the Jeonggok Port (Hwaseong-si) and Tando Port (Ansan-si), Gyeonggi Province from the 30 May - 03 June. Celebrating its fifth anniversary, the Korea International Boat Show 2012 is aiming to satisfy satisfying the needs of the water sports industry, and will provide visitors with a wide variety of events and programmes. Completion of the 2 Marina construction and Exhibition area/scale expansion The fifth Korea International Boat Show has an indoor exhibition area of 11,600 sq m and an ocean exhibition area of 41,660 sq m, compared to 11,200 sq m and 20,000 sq m respectively, from last year. In addition, construction of the Jeonggok Port’s 2 Marina was completed, resulting in large-scaled exhibition of 139 yachts and boats, up by 79 from the previous year. This year, visitors will have chance to enjoy a wide spectrum of yachts and boats from all over the world. Expansion of overseas networking and possible MOU with the German Maritime Association Last year KIBS joined the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) and the International Federation of Boat Show Organizers (IFBSO). This year Anthony Rice, the President of ICOMIA, will make his appearance as a main speaker at the Asia Marine Conference 2012 and share some topics (i.e. key conditions for a country to have strong water sports industry, etc.) with the audience. His appearance is clear evidence that KIBS is a growing concern. Furthermore, KIBS will solidify its international networking, for example, the MOU with the German Maritime Association. More water sports programs for visitors This year, visitors will love more diversified water sports programmes and events. These programmes and events include dinghy yacht sailing, kayaking, traditional boat rowing contest, beach volleyball and so on. In addition, there will be yachts that cruise between the Jeongok Port and Tando Port for the sake of visitors’ convenience. Compared to two yachts and one ship last year, this year’s show will have five cruise boats, three power boats and one sailboat. Son Sooik, the Chief Operation Manager of KIBS 2012, said, 'We will have the best diversified programmes and events ever for our visitors.' www.koreaboatshow.org
