It is with deep regret that we inform you of the passing on May 10, 2012 of 2008 Farr 30 World Champion, Guy Stening of Australia, after losing his battle with septicemia.
Guy, a relative newcomer to the sport of yacht racing, burst onto the Farr 30 scene in 2007, racing his Farr 30 Optimum to a fourth place finish at the 2007 Farr 30 World Championship held in Miami Beach, Florida.
He went on to win the 2008 Farr 30 Australian Championship and then sailed to victory in the blustery 2008 Farr 30 World Championship, held in Newport, Rhode Island.
Once again in 2009 he claimed the title of Farr 30 Australian Champion.
Our hearts and prayers go out to his wife Hillary, and their two daughters, Isabella and Sibel at this difficult time.
