Stormy Lifejackets releases new inflatable life ring, Stormy LifeSaver
|
Iconic Australian PFD (Personal Flotation Device) manufacturer, Stormy Lifejackets; have released a new inflatable life ring named the Stormy LifeSaver. The product is a natural progression for Stormy who were pioneers in this product field in 2007 when they developed and launched the Stormy Rescue Grenade. This single use Stormy Rescue Grenade is now used extensively by sailors, emergency rescue groups and maritime construction companies around Australia. Developing the re-useable LifeSaver was a natural progression for the company as customers proved the importance of having an inflatable life ring on standby. This water activated device is ideal to respond immediately in a range of working conditions to a man overboard situation providing invaluable buoyancy until the person can be rescued. The hard outer casing and re-useable design ensures that the LifeSaver will serve as a durable life saving device. The LifeSaver uses a 33gm C0² cylinder and water activated canister to provide over 150 Newtons of buoyancy to aid in man overboard situations. The device can be easily deflated, recharged and re-packed using the Stormy LifeSaver re-charge kit so it is always ready to be deployed. The non-disposable nature of this product ensures it will continue to be an effective life saving device over time. Enclosed in an easy to handle hard plastic case, the LifeSaver comes with a metal cradle to house the device in an easy to reach location for quick deployment. Simply remove the grey safety clip and the LifeSaver can be accurately thrown a distance of over 30m. Once it is dropped into the water it will automatically inflate. The attached outer case sinks to act as an anchor to avoid the life ring from blowing away in windy conditions. The horseshoe shaped life ring has a strap with clip to secure the user to the buoyancy aid. 'Saving lives has always been our mission for Stormy Lifejackets. We are an innovative company who are always looking to develop and bring new products to market that prevent unnecessary drowning’s' said Helen Moore, Managing Director and Chief Designer of Stormy Lifejackets. 'The success of the Stormy Rescue Grenade showed that an inflatable life ring is a valuable life saving tool. It was a natural progression for the company to release a re-useable version of this type of PFD,' said Moore. The product can be dropped from helicopters, bridges, cliffs, wharves, thrown from the beach or any vessel to assist anyone in trouble on the water. The concept of an inflatable life ring has been proven with the Grenade that is currently used by many government rescue agencies including State Emergency Services, Coastguards, Police, Port Authorities, Paramedics, Department of Fisheries, and Department of Parks across all states of Australia. The LifeSaver is especially well suited to sailing vessels where deck space is limited and the life ring is required to be thrown quickly, in high wind conditions where the vessel cannot immediately stop to rescue overboard crew member. Manufactured in Europe, the LifeSaver is imported, assembled, quality controlled and exclusively distributed in Australia by Stormy Lifejackets. Stormy Lifejackets are currently launching their full range of products into Europe. For more information visit www.stormylifejackets.com
