RYA British GT15 Championship 2012 is being held at the Lowestoft and Oulton Broad Motor Boat Club National Championship Round in Oulton Broad during 6th and 7th May.

Eleven year old World Powerboat Racing Champion Ben Jelf from Maidstone begins his battle to become RYA British GT15 Champion this Bank Holiday weekend.

Following his success in the 2011 season that saw him crowned British, World and European Champion, this weekend sees Ben bid to add his fifth consecutive British RYA Championship title to his list of successes in his short three year racing career.

2012 will see the inaugural year of the RYA British GT15 Championship to be held in the UK and with seven youngsters aged 9 – 16 signed up for the battle it looks to be one of the most exciting competitions in recent years.

Ben’s 2012 championship campaign sees him bring on board two new partners in Tohatsu Marine UK and RacingBatteries.co.uk joining him in his bid to win this British Title.

After a long winter of training Ben can’t wait to get back in the boat and out on the water; 'I’m really looking forward to the race this weekend. Everybody’s looked really good in testing and training so there should be some really strong competition in the championship this year', commented the young champion.

'Testing hasn’t been going so great recently and we’ve been having a few engine problems but with the support of the rest of team Jelf and my sponsors Tohatsu Marine UK, RacingBatteries.co.uk and BS Marinesport I’m sure we’ll resolve the issues for the best possible result this weekend.'

The championship campaign will see the British youngsters travel to five venues in the UK in their bid to become champions, visiting Suffolk, Lancashire, Cardiff, The Midlands and Bedford throughout the season.
