North Sails Hong Kong leads group drive into China

'North Sails'    MIKE LEYLAND
North Sails Group, LLC has announced a new initiative to formally bring the North Sails brand, products and services to the Chinese sailing market. North Sails Group is also announcing the appointment of North Sails Hong Kong to lead these new sales, marketing and distribution activities. North Sails Hong Kong Sales & Service Loft is a member of the North Sails New Zealand family, run by Steve Trebitsch, a highly experienced sailor and sailmaker and former manager of the North Sails New Zealand service department.

This programme will focus on a grassroots level to support the growth of the sailing in China through events, organizations and education. The primary focus will be to improve the performance of Chinese sailboats and sailors through the use of North Sails technology and sail products.

North Sails recognizes the tremendous growth potential of sailing and boat building in China. 'We feel the time is now right to establish ourselves and prepare for this future growth' says Bill Fortenberry, General Manager of North Sails in Southeast Asia. 'China has proven itself as a passionate and influential segment of the international sailing industry. With world class events and developing infrastructure we believe sailing in China has a positive outlook.'

'We are excited to be part of North Sails expanded presence in China' says North Sails Hong Kong, Sales Manager Steve Trebitsch. 'Our established team, sales office and sail care facility in Hong Kong are perfectly positioned to lead North Sails in China. We look forward to supporting and servicing the Chinese sailing markets.'

North Sails Hong Kong joins a growing list of North Sails agents and sail care facilities in South and Southeast Asia including India, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand. North Sails has become the world leader in sailmaking through an ongoing commitment to technology and performance making sails that are faster, lighter and longer lasting than any other sails in the world. North Sails develops and produces more cruising sails and racing sails than any other sailmaker. All North sails are manufactured to the highest standards using the latest technology and premium fabrics. Whether you race or cruise, North Sails has the widest variety of products to meet your needs. When performance matters, the choice is clear. Sailmaking and technology are our passion.
