North Sails Group, LLC has announced a new initiative to formally bring the North Sails brand, products and services to the Chinese sailing market. North Sails Group is also announcing the appointment of North Sails Hong Kong to lead these new sales, marketing and distribution activities. North Sails Hong Kong Sales & Service Loft is a member of the North Sails New Zealand family, run by Steve Trebitsch, a highly experienced sailor and sailmaker and former manager of the North Sails New Zealand service department.
This programme will focus on a grassroots level to support the growth of the sailing in China through events, organizations and education. The primary focus will be to improve the performance of Chinese sailboats and sailors through the use of North Sails technology and sail products.
North Sails recognizes the tremendous growth potential of sailing and boat building in China. 'We feel the time is now right to establish ourselves and prepare for this future growth' says Bill Fortenberry, General Manager of North Sails in Southeast Asia.
