International Laser 4.7 Class World Youth Championship is currently being sailed on the River Plate at Buenos Aires, Argentina. Teenage Hobart sailor Anna Vaughan is holding second place overall after the second day of racing. Following her 1-2 result on day one, the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania Dinghy Group member again sailed well for a fifth and a seventh place in the 43 boat fleet, while her main rival, Celine Herud from Norway, had a fourth and a second place. The Norwegian girl is on a net five points after one discard, Anna is on eight points, while a Brazilian sailor, Julia Silver, has moved up from sixth to third overall, with two third places on day two, to be on a net 10 points. Sailing conditions were again light, suiting the slim Tasmanian sailor, but the fleet also had to contend with a strong current on the muddy-coloured waters of the River Plate. In the boys championship, Victorian Jack Felsental is eighth overall with a seventh and a third place on day two. A total of 117 youth sailors from around the world are contesting the world championship at the Yacht Club Argentino.
