Marine Auctions try Sunday for crowds on the Gold Coast
|
Marine Auctions will be trialling Sundays at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast for the next few months, hoping to attract those with sport, family and other commitments. Adrian Seiffert, auctioneer and Principal at Marine Auctions, says the Sunday schedule on the Gold Coast will appeal to those who have previously been unable to attend due to family commitments, sport, sailing and the like. 'We will be starting the Sunday auctions 25 March, then Saturday April 21 at Rivergate Brisbane and then May 27 again at Runaway Bay - coinciding with the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.' Marine Auctions hopes to attract some of the local and interstate visitors in town for the boat show to Runaway Bay for its May 27 auction. 'That worked well last year and we are confident we will have something for everybody in May.' For 25 March, Adrian says the lineup is sensational and includes around 30 boats, 25-35ft - among them a Bayliner, sportcruisers, an Allison water taxi and even a jetty. Marine Auctions attracts between 100 and 200 people at auctions, as well as an additional 50 to 100 people who register as bidders. 'Our website has 10,000 hits per day, which we're very happy with. We sell about 20 boat a month, which is also great in this climate.' On average, reports Adrian, Marine Auctions clears 30-40% of boats on the day and by seven to 10 days after auction, that rate rises to 70%. The key to this clearance rate is marketing. 'We are very consistent with our marketing,' he states. 'As well as advertising online and in publications, we have 20,000 brochures going out and an email database of around 40,000 - which reaches around 100,000 people once the organisations we send to forward on to their members. It's working. Last Saturday we sold a brokerage boat at Rivergate for above the reserve.' More at www.marineauctions.com.au
