'Etchells Australasian Winter Championship 2012'

ADCO Etchells Australasian Winter Championship, organised by the Mooloolaba Etchells Fleet, is being held from 7th to 10th June 2012. The Notice of Race and online entry system have been published and are available online.
The event is into its 16th consecutive year and retains its unique status of no one skipper successfully defending their Winters title, even though many have tried.
Last year’s winning team, Iron Lotus skippered by Tom King, are now the 2012 Etchells World Champion. While King and his team have gone back to work, they are being actively encouraged to take the long-weekend off to return to Mooloolaba.
Current Australian Champion skipper David Clark will be there. 'Mooloolaba is our favourite regatta of all regattas. If the boat sells I would still like to do the mid-Winters in one role or another,' Clark said.
A large contingent from Melbourne has already starting booking their boat transport and accommodation.
The ADCO Etchells Winters is enjoyed by the sailors for both the competition and the after race parties. On the water, the race management team is led by international race officers, Ross and Kevin Wilson. On shore the parties are at The Wharf Tavern.
The ADCO Etchells Australasian Winter Championship is part of Queensland’s Season of Sailing and is supported by Newport Apartments, The Wharf Tavern, Musto Australasia, The Wharf, Sun-air Bus Services, Doyles Sails, North Coast Signs and Sunsport Marine.
