Whenuakite famers and active Classic Yacht Association (CYA) members Gary and Karenne Wilson have restored yet another piece of maritime history, the hundred year old Colonist.
Completed in a barn on their property the restoration has been a combination of six years work with contributions from both the farming and maritime community.
An E-class race boat, Colonist (E2), lanquished in Gulf Harbour before being taken on as a long term project by the talent country musicians, who are planning to launch the vessel in Whitanga, 2pm , 22 February, 2012. (Story courtesy of Dorothy Preece, Hauraki Herald, 22 February, 2012)
