Going for Gold
It’s set to be a big year for sailors and the Show is the place to see a host of Olympic Class boats used by Skandia Team GBR; from the Finn, the type of boat used by triple Olympic medallist, Ben Ainslie Britain’s most successful Olympic sailor ever, to the Star, the class in which the successful pairing of Iain Percy and Andrew Simpson compete. Prepare yourself for the exciting summer ahead.
The Watersports Action Pool
For those that are adventurous and don’t mind getting wet, the Watersports Action Pool has been built specially for the Show (where the experts from Neilson Active Holidays and Rockley Watersports will help you get out on the water). Visitors can take to the water, during four designated public slots throughout the day, to try an exciting range of sports such as stand up paddleboarding (SUP), wakeboarding, windsurfing, dinghy sailing, canoeing and kayaking. For the less adventurous there will be the chance to sit back and watch exciting action such as live demos and professional championships by watersports experts, including the European All-stars Canoe Polo Challenge.
The Knowledge Box
Head over to the Knowledge Box for a great way to learn about all things nautical and more. This year’s line-up includes some of the world’s boating experts talking on topics ranging from technology and innovations to yachts and dinghy racing. Plus Michelin starred chef Adam Gray will be giving demos on skills and technique three times a day, every day. So whether you’re a novice or an experienced boater there will be something for everyone to educate, enthuse and inspire.
Confirmed speakers include:
Alan Priddy - British ocean adventurer Alan Priddy will discuss the Global Circumnavigation Challenge - his bid to design and build the fastest and most efficient wave-piercing powerboat to circumnavigate the globe for the much coveted UIM world record.
Michelin Starred Chef, Adam Gray – Whether on a sailing yacht or a motor boat, Michelin starred chef Adam Gray will be demonstrating how to cook fresh, tasty meals that can be prepared in all sizes of galley.
Richard Harpham – Adventurer and fundraiser, Richard Harpham, will talk about the 10,000 miles he has completed in a kayak and canoe over the past two years - from Lands End to Alaska and Marrakech to Malta he will describe the highs and lows of all his expeditions.
Tony Brooks - Technical specialist, Tony Brooks, will talk about mechanical/electrical maintenance, particularly focusing on electrical problems and diesel systems - he will also be available after his talk for one on one advice sessions.
Clipper Ventures - Over the 10 days of the Show, Clipper will be providing up-to-date information and live feeds from this year’s ‘Clipper Round the World Race’ – as well as firsthand accounts from previous race participants.
The Classic Boat Attraction
Visitors can experience a real slice of tradition at this fascinating area - learn about a true 18th century sailing warship HMS Victory, Nelson’s flagship vessel that took part in the battle of Trafalgar. Immerse yourself in tales about what life was like onboard the only surviving naval warship. Adults and children alike will be able to have a go on replica rigging and try their hand at climbing and unfurling the sails.

With Adam Gray’s live demos guaranteed to whet your appetite, there will be a host of places you can go to satisfy your foodie cravings:
• The Black and White Bar: Sit back with your friends and colleagues and enjoy a pint of the black stuff at the Show's most famous bar.
