Day 4 of the 2011-12 Australian 420 Championships sailed out of the Moreton Bay Boat Club, provided a change in conditions and a change in placings in the overall standings.

With the wind again from the South East, the 32 strong 420 fleet punched off the line in what was an inconsistent 10 - 15knot breeze.

Sailing the shifts and spotting the pressure was especially important today as the fickle breeze built and dropped dramatically.

Winning both races of the day was the Singaporean pair of Choy and Tang who showed their superior boat speed in the lighter conditions.

Leading Australians and second overall are Morrison and Walker who had a harder day in the light conditions but managed to maintain their position overall.

Morrison commented on the days racing, 'It was alot lighter than usual and the breeze was flicking a lot more and picking shifts was a lot harder'.

He added that they were happy with their boat speed throughout the regatta and how a combination of five years in the class and knowing how to make the boat go fast had held them in good steed.

'We sail off Fremantle and always sail in a lot of breeze so its that experience' Morrison said.

With the points in the top five so close tomorrows two heats will be the decider for the overall championships.

'We just want to stay consistent tomorrow, just keep a good mind, top three result both races and we should be ok' Morrison said while packing his boat up on the ramp of the Moreton Bay Boat Club.

Tomorrow's final days racing will see some close contests between the open and youth teams.
