The 2012 Mitre 10 MEGA NZ Paper Tiger National Championships began today with a quiet beginning to registration and measuring, allowing everyone to recover from the festivities of the New Year's Eve Party hosted by the New Plymouth Yacht Club.
This afternoon however saw all competitors attempt to get back into race mode with the Tiger Automation Limited Invitation Race programmed to start at 1430hrs.
The race would have been a good final hit out for the 50 strong fleet before competitive racing kicks off tomorrow (Monday 2 Jan).
Unfortunately no racing was possible and everyone will have to wait until tomorrow to show their speed.
The Organising Committee and the New Zealand Paper Tiger Owners Association would like to thank the following sponsors for their contribution to the event.
Major Sponsor: Mitre 10 MEGA
Additional Sponsors: Tiger Automation Ltd, Jackson Flooring, Kaefer Services Ltd, Rimu Electrical Ltd, Industrial Chemistry Services, IED Lifting Centre Ltd, Contact Energy Ltd, Dinamic Canvas Ltd, Olex NZ Ltd, Busing Russell Accountants, Gusto Resturant & Cafe, Mermaid Gallery.
