The New Zealand Marine Industry Training Organisation is to offer the country’s first national qualifications for those working in the marina sector.
'This new NZ Marine ITO qualifications, developed with significant input from Marina Operators Association is fully supported by the marina industry,' says Russell Mathieson, chairman of the Marina Operators Association. 'It will recognise and enhance the professionalism of those who work within marine operations,'
The comprehensive new qualifications will take around two and a half years to complete and will result in a NZQA-accredited Level 3 National Certificate.
The new National Certificate in Marina Operations and Services will offer strands in both administration and operations and provide a pathway for existing and prospective marina personnel into the marine industry.
