The Showdown annual spring regatta, hosted by the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania, was held from 4th to 6th November on the River Derwent.
The young sailors in the Optimists, Sabots and International Cadets had testing conditions for their opening races day, with the NNW winds gusting to 25 knots. However, the breeze eased to 10-12 knots later in the morning, although freshening to 17 knots for the final race, giving a total of eight races over the days of intensive competition.
