Whitsunday Boat and Lifestyle Show - Its full steam ahead
|
Its full steam ahead for the Whitsunday Boat and Lifestyle Show 2011 to be held on the 10th and 11th of September. With over 40 exhibits committed across the range of marine, boats, lifestyle and much more, its going to be a fabulous weekend of seaside fun. Port of Airlie the 10th and 11th September will be the venue for the return of the Whitsunday Boat and Lifestyle Show presented by the Rotary Club of Airlie Beach Inc. The new dates are smack in the middle of the best weather period of the year, for this is when the Whitsundays enjoys most days in sunshine and light winds. While the weather can't be pre-determined, it is very likely that the show will occur under blue skies. The fun continues over two full days with show exhibits, entertainment and demonstrations in a fabulous atmosphere. The hardstand will feature tinnies, jet skis, and outboards with the likes of Yamaha, Sirocco Marine and Crossley Holden on show. Under the big top, there will be plenty more to see, including leading marine audio company Fusion, Finlease, Daydream island and much much more. Down on the marina, vessels large and small from local charter companies will be lined up beside craft from Seaquest, Whitley, Kevlacat and others. Sunday will also showcase aquatic food fare with a Seafood festival from 1.30pm till 4pm. Championed by Fish D'Vine, enjoy fresh shucked Oysters, cooked or chilled local prawns, calamari and other tempting delicacies. The show is also on the same weekend as the Whitsunday Fun Race (Saturday) with its classic after party conducted by the Whtisunday Sailing Club, so it is sure to be a very enjoyable time in Airlie which demands that you make a weekend of it! To ensure value for money, and affordable prices for individuals and families, show prices will remain the same as for the prior show in 2009. Adults will be $10, Children 2 – 14 years will be $5 and Children 0 – 2 years will be free. Additional value will be extended to families this year as well. A family ticket now includes 2 adults and 3 children (aged 2 – 14 years) for just $25. This represents a great saving for growing families. More information here
