Marine Electronics manufacturer FinScan, announced that Whittley boats are fitting FinScan’s IntelliCORE – distributed DC power system, as a standard feature on the 2800 cruiser model.

The system was on display, fitted in the Whittley 2800 cruiser at the Sydney International boat show.

Whittley boats are one of Australia’s leading manufacturer’s of fibreglass trailer boats, and a Cruiser range up to 28ft. Whittley’s 2800 cruiser now enjoys intelligent power control.

With a 7' IP65 touch screen mounted at the helm, and FinScan’s iCORE DC power distribution units mounted in cavities that are out of sight. Intelligent power switching is performed from simple navigation of a small number of screen’s. These give the operator the option to switch power traditionally, via buttons, or via imagery using an actual image of the Whittley 2800 Cruiser as the switching, when parts of the image are touched.

The FinScan IntelliCORE system has brought many advantages to the Whittley 2800 cruiser. Apart from the obvious ease of use, and enhanced user experience, an easier and faster installation has been achieved, with less materials and time involved. IntelliCORE cabling systems deliver power and communications between IntelliCORE modules in one cable with 'Plug and Play' connectivity.

Using the IntelliCORE Power distribution units allows the one iCORE module to provide supply connection points, circuit protection, and load switching. The IntelliCORE system was launched last year as a system with a point of difference, in many fronts, from other products on the market. With the understanding that most boat builders do not have the technical resource to develop and deploy distributed power systems.

FinScan works closely with the boat builder from the start to end of a project, working through the requirements to deliver a state of the art system tightly integrated to perform as a key part of the boat design. Since launching the IntelliCORE system, FinScan have performed many installations in Australia and internationally.
