ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship day 4 RS:X action

On day four of the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship in Zadar, Croatia the windsurfing competitors headed out onto the course on their scheduled rest day. After three days of light winds disrupting racing, the RS:X boys and girls fleets headed out onto the water.

Eamon Robertshaw from Western Australia had a good day with a pair of fifth place finishes moving him up to eighth overall.

Robertshaw, competing in his second ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship, heads into the final three days of racing in a tight group of sailors and is just five points off fifth overall.

'I was really happy to get two top 10 finishes and comeback from yesterday?s 21st and put myself back in the top 10,' said Robertshaw. 'My preparation was better today and I sailed much smarter which helped!'

Sydney sailor Annalise Gilbert sits 17th in the RS:X girls class, finishing the day with an 18th and a 17th.

Gilbert got off the start line well in both races on Tuesday, finding herself in good positions at the top mark each time.

In her first ISAF Youth Sailing World Championship appearance, Gilbert is progressing well and enjoyed a stronger day's racing.

The remainder of the fleets will hit the water again on Wednesday for the final three days of racing with a number of Australian crews in strong positions.

The 420 boys crew of Angus Galloway and Alex Gough are third overall while in the 420 girls class fellow Australians Carrie Smith and Ella Clark are fifth and just six points off the podium.

29er sailors Josh Franklin and Lewis Brake hold down fifth position while Paul Darmanin and Aleks Vucic are ninth in the multihull open class.

In the Laser Radial boys fleet Matthew Wearn is 29th and in the girls fleet Ashley Stoddart is 38th.
