Ray Hasler launches new 42fter in Auckland
'Rikki - Ray and Lesley Haslar'
Former New Zealand Sailor of the Year, and one of the outstanding off shore sailors - who has been a major force for now five decades - Ray Hasler - has launched a new racer.
His new Reichel Pugh 42 – 'Rikki' was launched at at Pier 21 in Auckland New Zealand June 25.
The lady-in-red is now a reality. Yes – and light and bright on the water with an eager crew ready to learn all her idiosyncrasies.
Haslar plans to race her in Auckland for a few weeks, then sail up the coast to her home in the Bay of Islands.
The Coastal Classic will be their first major event starting in October 2011.
