Marine Queensland will celebrate triumph over adversity next month, launching one of the most diverse Brisbane Boat show’s of all time at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre from August 25-28.

The 51st annual show is set to blow former year’s efforts out of the water - encompassing a sailing stage, nautical fashion and swimwear exhibits for female water goers as well as the latest in luxury boating, water sports, fishing and accessories.

Marine Queensland’s events manager Jason Plant said the 2011 event needed to be better than ever before to get people excited about boating again and back on the water.

'Queensland boaties had a rough start to the year but the marine industry has proven it is made of tough stuff and has certainly triumphed over adversity in the last six months.'

'For many Queenslanders, owning a boat is a very affordable lifestyle option that brings families together,' Plant said.

'We’re inviting all those who have a passion for getting on the water to come along and experience this state’s best marine show, which promises to be better than ever before.'

Headlining this year’s array of exhibitors, the 37ft Boston Whaler and Sea Ray 370 Sundancer are some of the biggest boats to grace the floors of the show.

And if that’s not enough to float your boat – the Waterskiing World Championship team will be stopping in, including an appearance from star performer and ‘boxing glamour girl’ Lauryn Eagle.

Plant said the 2011 show was a ‘must see’ on the marine calendar.

'There are new challenges this year that people can really get involved in this year as well as old the old favourites including fishing tips and demonstrations as well as amazing deals on water craft right through to world-class displays.'

This year’s show welcomes the return of seafood expert Bart Beek on the Club Marine Cooking Stage, along with a delicious menu at the show’s seafood café.

Fishing enthusiasts can get all of the latest of fishing technologies, tried and tested techniques and top tips on prime fishing locations from the Fishing stage.

Returning in 2011 is the Bream Fishing Tournament. Teams of anglers will deliver their live catches directly to the fishing stage across the weekend aiming to secure their spot in the QLD Bream Classic finals to be held later in the year.

The always popular Kids Marine Zone will also return this year with plaster mould painting, rock climbing and professional fishing lessons.
