The Hebe Haven Yacht Club’s (HHYC) summer cruiser racing series will start with the TUMI Summer Saturday Series 2011 from 4th June to 13th August, and continues to grow in popularity with the yacht racing fleet in Hong Kong. This Series comprises of 12 races in total and is sailed in the pleasant waters of Port Shelter, off Sai Kung on alternate Saturdays.
Running on alternate weekends with another Blue Ribbon Event of HHYC, the Typhoon Series 2011 (12th June – 27th August), the Saturday afternoon racing in this Series draws competitors to a mix of geometric course races in four overall IRC, SBR, HKPN and OD handicap classes.
We are very pleased to welcome TUMI as the Title Sponsor for the first time. Irene Fung, General Manager of TUMI commented on the sponsorship saying: 'We are excited to sponsor the TUMI Summer Saturday Series, especially a boat printed with TUMI logo on its sail is anticipated to win the competition!'
Mr. Mark Houghton, Commodore of the HHYC, remarked he anticipates this year’s TUMI Summer Saturday Series to be very exciting as the series will be introducing the new rating system for the SBR Division and the One Design J80s and Dragon will be joining the racing fleet in their own division.
