SYBA appoints new Board Member: Jim Livermore

'Jim Livermore, joining the board of SYBA.'    SYBA Victoria Smith
Superyacht Australia Chairman Barry Jenkins announced today the appointment of Jim Livermore as a Director of SYBA replacing Dominic White who resigned recently from the Board.

Jenkins said 'Dominic has done an exceptional job as Secretary of SYBA and has been influential in ensuring the survival of this group. His contribution, professionalism and experience have been evident over a number of years.

MTU have now appointed Jim Livermore as their representative on the Board. Jim has managed MTU Detroit Diesel Australia’s Eastern Region since May 2004, and is responsible for the area’s AUD$85 million plus revenue portfolio.

Over a decade long tenure with the company, Mr Livermore has negotiated refit and maintenance contracts for the Royal Australian Navy and leading commercial marine operators.

Jim holds an Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management, and is the President NSW Superyacht Industry Association (2009/10).

Chairman Jenkins said 'I am delighted to welcome Jim Livermore to the Superyacht Australia board. Jim comes with a wealth of business experience and industry knowledge which will enhance the existing expertise and add to the commitment of ensuring the organisation remains focused on delivering positive outcomes to the members.'

Jim Livermore is excited by the appointment 'I am looking forward to working with the Superyacht Australia board to grow the superyacht industry in Australia. A key part of the strategy to profile the industry and provide information to businesses was to organise the Australian Superyacht and Marine Export Conference. This inaugural event to be held next week 17/18 May is going to be a significant step forward for the industry and I am looking forward to being part of it.'
