Dr. Shrink creates its own shrink wrap protection after storm
|
Dr. Shrink now has first-hand experience dealing with tornado and severe storm damage, following an extremely severe thunderstorm with high winds and gusts up to 129 kph which ripped through Manistee, Michigan, USA, and literally tore the roof off international shrink wrap supplier Dr. Shrink's warehouse. Without a second thought, the company's innovative team pulled out the shrink wrap and heat tools and got to work creating a temporary roof. 'After a damaging storm hit our warehouse, the Dr. Shrink team took a very bad situation and turned it around in under ten hours. I was in China as the situation occurred and communicated by phone and text messaging to see how they handled the recovery,' said Mike Stenberg, Dr. Shrink CEO. 'I am very impressed that our warehouse was totally enclosed in just a few hours and without interrupting our customer service at all. I applaud our team.' With local roofing companies already overwhelmed with repairs for the several other buildings in the area damaged or destroyed, the company took matters into its own hands with the help of Bob's Roofing. Using a 15m x 30m, 9 mil roll and 5cm x 10cm boards, Dr. Shrink staff covered about 279 square meters of its damaged warehouse structure. 'Using shrink wrap for a temporary roof was fast, efficient and worked really well for the circumstance at hand. The wrap shrunk down nice and tight and held together well. 'It was a community effort, we didn't have any problems up on the roof and we got it shrunk down and taken care of in no time at all,' said Phil Landes, VP of Bob's Roofing. 'I've used shrink wrap on my boat before and it works way better than any tarp.' 'Shrink wrap was instrumental in making our warehouse totally weather tight in such a short time,' said Stenberg. 'This gives us a better ability to help other companies and individuals protect their damaged structures after storms, earthquakes or tornados.' Complete roofing repairs will take a few weeks to be finalized, but Dr. Shrink will continue to provide top customer service and prompt delivery as usual. Ryan Polcyn, Dr. Shrink sales manager said, 'It has been a team effort to clean up while also keeping operations moving without any downtime. Restoration would not have been this seamless without our great staff and great product.' In Australia, All Marine Spares is the distributor for the innovative Dr. Shrink product range.
