Vice Admiral's Cup Regatta 2011 is hosted by the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club in Cowes, Isle of Wight, from Friday 13th to Sunday 15th May.

The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club has announced some class changes for the seventh edition of its much loved regatta.

This year Class 0 will be for the 44-46 footers LOA. The boats must be of a series production class of which at least four yachts shall have been constructed. The class will have a maximum IRC rating of 1.240 and a maximum SPA of 181.5 sq metres.

Class 1 will be for the 38-42 footers LOA with an IRC rating between 1.055 and 1.11.

Under the guise of Class 3 the J/109s will be making a welcome return to the Vice Admiral's Cup this year and the competition in this popular class is expected to be fierce.

The smallest class at the event will, as always, be the perennial Quarter Tonners sailing as Class 4.

Racing for classes 0 and 3 will be level racing and Class 1 and the Quarter Tonners will be raced under IRC. Racing will be held over three days for all classes, however, the racing on Friday 13 May for the J/109s in Class 3 will be considered practice racing only and their points series will be on Saturday and Sunday only. For Classes 0, 2 and 4 all days racing will count.

North Sails, Boat Sales International and Musto, whose generous support help to make the event possible, once again sponsor this year's Vice Admiral's Cup.

There will be a daily prize giving after racing each day at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club and on Friday 13 May the club will host a two course Vice Admiral's Cup Supper, crew tickets for which are included within the entry fees.

The Notice of Race, Entry Form and further details are available on the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club's website or by calling 01983 293581.
