The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) is to hold an event on 24th May where Sail-World's Cruising Editor Nancy Knudsen and Ted Nobbs will share their story about swapping the boardroom for the seven seas as published in Knudsen’s just-about-to-be-released book ‘Shooting Starts and Flying Fish’.
CYCA Members and guests are invited to attend a Cruising Information evening to be held on Tuesday 24 May, from 6.00pm in the Freya and Morna Rooms for the evening event. The club restaurant will be open after the event for those who wish to dine.
Knudsen is an accomplished writer and editor and together with her architect husband Ted decided to ‘throw in the towel’ on their corporate lives to pursue their dream of sailing around the world in their Petersen 46 Blackwattle.
Knudsen and Nobbs were also awarded the CYCA Cruising Trophy for their circumnavigation of the world from March 2003 to November 2007, the tales of which are highlighted in ‘Shooting Starts and Flying Fish’. A review of the book also appeared in the April/May edition of Offshore Yachting Magazine (click here
to read it). Copies of the book will also be available to purchase on the evening
These evenings are organised by the CYCA Cruising Committee as a benefit to members and guests. We encourage you to attend as they are both informative and entertaining.
