The Coral Coast Rally starts on Wednesday June 1. The first stop is at Cape Gloucester where everyone can relax and enjoy the serene surroundings of the Eco Resort before attending a scrumptious evening BBQ followed by the annual must do 'Pirates and Prostitutes Party'.

The rally will spend two nights at magnificent Horseshoe Bay on Magnetic Island, including a lay day to explore Magnetic Island. Both evenings will be spent at the Marlin Bar Tavern on the beachfront where there will be special prices, a special Coral Coast Rally menu, live band and prizes. The Coral Coast Race finishes at Horseshoe Bay this year, and the second night will be Presentation Night for the racing crews and a celebration night for both racing and rally members.

One night the rally yachts will anchor off Dunk Island. There will be no facilities because of Cyclone Yasi, but it is a great anchorage and fabulous setting. It will be a night to enjoy.

Fitzroy Island management are welcoming the rally with open arms for a two night stay. After being closed for a few years, new management are going out of their way to facilitate rally members and make the stay at Fitzroy Island a memorable occassion.

As well as the above locations, the rally will anchor overnight off several Barrier Reef islands to enjoy the tranquility that National Park Islands offer.

Throughout the rally there are theme nights, competitions and big prizes to give away.

The rally finishes at Port Douglas on Sunday June 12. There will be a complementary buffet luncheon at midday and final presentation for rally winners, including the 'home made' bikini competition which is always spectacular, and anyone else who deserves a prize.

The club has received four paid entries for the rally so far. There are many yachts coming on the rally but people haven't put in their entry forms yet.

The Coral Coast Notice of Rally can be viewed on the Abel Point Yacht Club website www.apyc.yachting.org.au

The club would like those who are interested to make a committment. Entry fee for the rally is $250.

If you have any questions, Lyn (Treasurer) can be contacted by email: apyc(at)hotmail.com or mobile 0488 570 527.
