This Friday, the inaugural Singapore Yacht Show will open, running 8-10 April at the exclusive ONE°15 Marina Club in Sentosa Cove. Event organisers, Informa Yacht Group, who are also owners of the Monaco Yacht Show, the Superyacht Cup Regattas and the Abu Dhabi Yacht Show, say they hope to 'bring together an international visitor audience of Asia’s ultra high net worth individuals and all the major players of the region’s luxury yachting industry'. Organisers say they are hoping for between 4000 and 5000 visitors to this launch event, confident it will grow exponentially with the rising tide of wealth in Asia. 'There is tremendous growth in the Asian luxury lifestyle market and we have seen a steady annual growth of superyacht presence in Singapore – 15 visiting yachts in 2006 rising to 59 vessels here in 2009.,' says Andy Treadwell, Informa Yacht Group Managing Director. 'With the region projecting to attract 200 superyachts by the year 2015, we think that Singapore, with its strategic geographical position, its first world facilities and first-mover advantage, will become the major superyacht hub for South East Asia. The first Singapore Yacht Show this April will be a show for the whole Asian region, and we believe it will attract interest and business to Singapore as the world’s yacht-owning business leaders start to come down here to enjoy the fabulous cruising grounds in this region.' The event will also play host to some exclusive entertainment with a gala dinner, various cocktail receptions, a golf tournament and many other social events, such as Ballet on the 7th and the Gala Dinner by Rolls Royce on the 8th. Additionally, the event will create the ideal environment for industry leaders to network and share best practices with new partners from around Asia. The third Asia Superyacht Conference will run concurrently to the show, aiming to provide unique insight into the South-East Asian region. 'When I travel around the world and attend some of the major shows, it is clear just how little people know about what is going on in the Asia-Pacific region,' commented Conference Chairman Simon Turner. 'The Asia Superyacht Conference will help superyacht industry players better understand the potential of this region. The Forbes Rich List recently announced that there are more billionaires in Asia compared to Europe for the first time in recorded history. There is a huge untapped market here for the superyacht industry.' The Conference will include presentations from Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, China, India, The Seychelles, Australia, The Philippines, Hong Kong, The UAE, Indonesia, The Netherlands and the UK. In addition to the superb agenda of speakers and interactive discussions, the Conference program includes social functions to bring many hours of networking for delegates. The event kicks off on Wednesday, 6th April, with the pre-conference networking cocktail reception sponsored by Sevenstar Yacht Transport. Participants from over 20 countries have already registered for the upcoming conference, which will be held from 7 to 8 April 2011 at official venue host ONEº15 Marina Club in Singapore. The Conference is proud to be sponsored by MTU, which has been a supportive partner for three consecutive years.

Andy Treadwell said: 'We are convinced that the market for superyachts in Asia could develop considerably over the next few years, and we want to play our part in driving that development. Singapore is a highly strategic and influential business centre in the very heart of Asia, providing a perfect venue for the show and a first-class hub for the future of the large-yacht industry in this region. The venue, ONE°15 Marina Club in Sentosa Cove has the ideal setting to host this ultra luxurious event.' More at www.singaporeyachtshow.com and www.one15marina.com
