Port of Plymouth Regatta:Building on the success of the previous years event, plans are well advanced to ensure that the Port of Plymouth Regatta 2011 is the best yet.
The improvements introduced for the yachts in 2010 are being extended to the dinghies in 2011. We have also listened to feedback and, as a result, the 2011 Regatta Dinghy Series will be an eight race event sailed over the second Saturday and Sunday of the Regatta (sixth and seventh of August). In addition we aim to deliver better racing for the dinghies with courses set using inflatable marks.
The 2011 program also sees the introduction of evening 'champagne' yacht races on Monday and Tuesday (first and second of August), and evening dinghy races on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (third, fourth, and fifth of August).
After the successful introduction of the White Sail Races in 2010 they are back for 2011 as will be the excellent Rookie Racing Series and Coaching.
The activity afloat will be more than matched by a full and fun programme shoreside with live music on each weekend and a variety of other entertainment and fun at various host clubs and venues throughout the Regatta.
