Sail-World.com : Michael Coxon's new style for Queen's Day

Michael Coxon's new style for Queen's Day

'Michael Coxon - Queen of the Harbour'    Frank Quealey
Michael Coxon is a two-times winner of the JJ Giltinan Championship (2006 in Casio Seapathfinder and 2007 in Fiat) and is the current Australian and San Francisco International champion with Thurlow Fisher Lawyers.

Last Sunday, the Australian 18 Footers League staged its annual Queen of the Harbour event and, as part of the day's activities, was sponsored by Red Claw Wines through their Pink Claw Rose brand.

The emphasis of the day was on supporting the fight against breast cancer and fund raising for BCNA (Breast Cancer Network Australia).

Michael skippered Thurlow Fisher Lawyers in a pink singlet, pink face paint 'whiskers' and pink animal print pink leotards, which defy description, but can be seen in the photograph above.

The outfit certainly attracted plenty of attention in the rigging area but, hopefully, will not become the normal sailing attire in the 18ft Skiff fleet.

Actually, Michael is a great character and it was good to see him get into the spirit of such an important day.

Club officials were extremely happy with the success and plan on it becoming a regular part of the event in the future.
