World Champion enters North American Blokart Sailing Championships

Another flurry of entries in to the 2011 north American Blokart Sailing Championships to be held at Ivanpah USA has lifted the entry numbers to 41, with over five weeks remaining until the entry deadline.

The event to be held on the dry lake bed from the 25th through to the 30th of March is set to be a great test for those preparing for the 2012 world championships.

Santi Oliver, Spain’s dual world blokart champion has officially entered, lifting the field up a notch and adding a second world champion to the fleet. Oliver joins blokart inventor Paul 'Guru' Beckett as the fleets only current world champions. However it is unlikely that these two will have it all their own way.

A strong field from New Zealand have entered, with Auckland’s Light Weight regional Title holder Ross Vickers entered in the middle weight division. Joining the Kiwi’s will be an extensive US team who will be giving it their all to keep the trophies at home. Class veterans Bob Casey, Dean Kitchen and James Scott Young are expected to keep the internationals at bay.

Its not too late to enter, entries close the day before first the first race:

Warmup day - Friday 25th March
Workshop and Registration - Saturday 26th March
Race Day 1 - Sunday 27th March
Race Day 2 - Monday 28th March
Race Day 3 - Tuesday 29th March
Reserve Day / Special Stage Day - Wednesday 30th March
